Artist, spinner, homesteader. I'm visually oriented, not very wordy. I do appreciate good writing, but will leave the doing of it to those with the verbalosity genes. My website is at www.handspunhats.com, and my blog is at http://handspunhats.blogspot.com.

Thanks to all the nice people who have visited while I've been gone. Sorry I haven't been able to get back to everyone. I'm in Berkeley for the weekend, then back up to the country again for another week or so. It's been nice to have a couple night's sleep without having to get up two or three times to feed the wood heater!

Our little building project is coming along well and will hopefully be done by fall. We've discovered a vole burrow and baby blue jays in the greenhouse, and my 18 year old cat has taken to hunting mice for the first time in her life. She's bagged two or three and is way proud! I'll post photos when I get some time. Bye for now.

This website offers information about the everyday practice of chöd for ordinary people, with contributions by ordinary people who do this practice. Chöd is often portrayed as so complicated, exotic, and esoteric that only highly-trained lamas can hope to become regular practitioners. But three groups of ordinary people do this practice regularly-two groups practice once a week in Boulder, and one group practices once a week via conference call. All of these groups practice in English. The practice we do is called, "Offering the Body."

Two people have told the tragic story of the Michigan car industry better than everyone else: The second (chronologically) was Michael Moore in his groundbreaking 1989 documentary Roger & Me that illustrated the devastating impact of the closing of several GM auto plants in Flint, Michigan. The first was Tyree Guyton of The Heidelberg Project. Named after the street on which it exists in Detroit, Michigan, The Heidelberg Project was started by Guyton in 1986 and has since become one of the most influential art environments in the world.
